Ortega’s Nopalitos
BRANDING • COLLATERAL • WEBSITE
Established in 2007, Ortega's Nopalitos is the second largest producer of prickly pear cactus pads, or nopales, in the Houston area. Naturally high in fiber and low in calories, nopales have long been a staple in Latin cuisine but remain largely undiscovered by many consumers. Ortega's Nopalitos set out to change that by introducing the nutritional benefits and convenience of ready to eat nopales to a broader audience.
-
Despite offering a healthy and convenient product, Ortega's Nopalitos lacked a distinct brand identity and a clear message that communicated its nutritional value and ease of use. While the brand had become a trusted staple in many Latin family kitchens, expanding its appeal to new audiences and encouraging everyday use across different demographics became a key objective.
-
A complete brand transformation was developed, including a new identity, packaging, website, retail POP displays, and a comprehensive content strategy. Recipe videos highlighted the convenience and versatility of ready to eat nopales, while behind the scenes content from the processing facility educated consumers on Ortega's quality standards and what makes their products superior. Together, these efforts positioned Ortega's Nopalitos as a modern, approachable brand that celebrated tradition while introducing the health benefits of nopales to a wider market.
